Unit converter

Convert length, weight, temperature, area and volume.

● Processed in your browser

What is this tool?

Translate a measurement between supported units without repeatedly looking up conversion factors. Use it for dimensions, weights, temperatures, areas and volumes. Select the measurement family first so the available units describe the same quantity.

How to use it

  1. Read the input labels and limits below, then choose the operation that matches your task.
  2. Choose the measurement category.
  3. Enter the value and select the source and destination units.
  4. Read the output unit as well as the number before using the result.
  5. Check the result against the worked example or original file before copying, downloading or using it elsewhere.

Worked example

One metre is 100 centimetres, but one square metre is 10,000 square centimetres. Area and volume use squared and cubed relationships. Changing only a length label on an area value gives the wrong answer.

Questions & limits

How it works

Choose a measurement, enter a value, then choose the source and destination units. Conversions use fixed factors for metric and standard imperial units. Temperature uses offset formulas.

A practical example

One international foot equals exactly 0.3048 metres. One US gallon is approximately 3.78541 litres.

Know the limits

Gallons here mean US liquid gallons, not imperial gallons. Weight uses avoirdupois pounds. Conversions are rounded for display and do not include local land units.

How do I convert a measurement?

Select the measurement type, enter its value, then choose the source and destination units. For example, 1 metre equals 100 centimetres. Temperature uses an offset as well as a scale factor.

Can this convert weight into volume?

Not directly. Converting a mass such as kilograms into litres depends on the material’s density. Choose compatible units within one measurement category.

Checking your result

Read the labels before entering a value, especially when switching an operation or unit. Start with a simple example whose answer you already know if you are unsure which mode to use. After changing an input, check that you are reading the new result rather than a value copied earlier. Invalid or incomplete inputs need correcting before the calculation can finish. For a form or deadline with specific rules, follow the destination’s requirements and use this page as a convenient calculation aid.

Features & limits

Choose a measurement category before selecting source and destination units. Temperature conversions include offsets; lengths, weights and other supported measurements use their displayed unit factors. Kelvin cannot be negative. This is not a currency or exchange-rate converter.

This tool runs in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. It processes the values or files you enter on your device. Loading the site still makes hosting requests. The separate contact form sends messages to the administrator; it is not part of tool processing. Keep an original copy and inspect any exported result before relying on it.

Do I need an account or upload my input?

No tool account is required. Processing takes place in your browser; your tool input is not sent to the contact inbox. Use a trusted device, keep your originals and avoid including passwords or private credentials in examples.
