What is this tool?

Convert a calendar date between Bikram Sambat and Gregorian notation. This helps when a form, birthday record or document uses a different calendar. A calendar conversion changes the date system, not the time zone of an appointment.

How to use it

1. Read the input labels and limits below, then choose the operation that matches your task.
2. Choose BS to AD or AD to BS before entering the date.
3. Type the year, month and day as eight digits; separators appear automatically.
4. Convert and check the labelled output calendar before copying the result.

Worked example

For BS input, 20830101 is displayed as 2083-01-01. Switching the direction changes which calendar the input is interpreted in. A Gregorian year must not be entered under BS to AD simply because its shape looks similar.

Questions & limits

Uses the bundled Nepali Date Converter 1.2.1 calendar dataset. Dates outside its supported range are rejected. Gregorian input must be a real calendar date. Check official documents against an authoritative Nepali calendar.

Can I enter a date without dashes?

Yes. Choose BS to AD or AD to BS, then type eight digits in year, month, day order. For example, 20830101 becomes 2083-01-01. नेपाली digits also work. Unsupported or impossible dates are rejected.

Why are some years unavailable?

Bikram Sambat month lengths come from a bounded calendar dataset. This tool rejects dates outside that range instead of extrapolating an unreliable answer.

Checking your result
