Frequently asked questions
Does matching a color guarantee readable text?
No. Readability depends on the foreground and background combination, size and other factors. This picker does not calculate contrast ratios or certify accessibility. Test the actual text and background pair with a contrast checker before using it for navigation, instructions or small labels.
What can I use color picker hex for?
Represent a chosen color in common web color formats. Use the visual picker to explore a shade or enter a known six-digit HEX value. Converting the notation helps move a color between design notes and stylesheet declarations.

Can I try a worked example?
HEX #FFFFFF represents white, while #000000 represents black. HSL can make it easier to reason about a hue separately from saturation and lightness, but equivalent values still describe the same sRGB color.
